Love Spell

Staring in your eyes, I don't know what to read there

As I touch every part of your skin, whispering

A litany: "Love, love, love love love love love" To weave a spell of it into the frame of you,

Lingering over the bits you hate the most Out of everything, because I can't touch your soul,

Can't reach inside and silence your strident mind,

Have to wait until it all subsides and you find

Your own peace, your own stillness. I can only run my hands over your form,

My fingers through your hair, my hands wiping your tears,

Taking just a moment to be kind, to honor your softness,

Your abundance and the longing to be healed I can only wait until we've gotten there,

I can only be love.
