Michaela is standing on a foggy forest path strewn with crackly maple leaves. She is wearing a cable knit sweater with 4 stripes gradient from white to black, a crown of huge red roses, and her brightest smile.

Michaela has been writing since the age of eleven. Throughout her strange experiences, she has utilized poetry as a tool to process and to encourage resilience. Her poetry is marked by explorations of the natural world, of psychology, and of human superstition. She lives in Oregon with her tremendous husband, Joe, their three cats; Flax, Ivy, and Turnip.
